How we handle your child's information
You're being asked to write things down about your child. That deserves a straight answer about where it goes. Here is the whole picture, in plain language.
What we store
- A nickname you choose — not your child's real name
- An age band (for example 8–10), not a birthdate
- The strengths tapped during an assessment
- Optional short notes you write about everyday moments
- Your own email address, so you can sign in
What we never ask for
- Full name, school, address or location
- Photos or video of your child
- Health, clinical, diagnostic or biometric information
- Anything sold, rented or shared with advertisers
- Anything used to train a model — yours or anyone else's
How the report is produced
Your child's profile is scored by a fixed rulebook, not by a model that makes something up each time. Answers add points to six strength themes, the totals fall into bands, and each band maps to insight text that was written in advance by a person. Give the same answers twice and you get the same report twice — and we can explain every line of it.
There is one optional extra: a question helper you can use to ask follow-ups like "what does this mean for homework?". That feature does use an AI assistant, and we say so plainly. It never writes, changes or scores your child's report, it's off unless you open it, and you can use the entire product without ever touching it.
You can delete it all
Remove a single child profile, or close your account entirely, from the Account page. Deleting a child removes their assessments, moments and reports. Closing your account removes everything we hold about your family, subject only to records we are legally required to keep for tax and payment purposes.
